Poorly, at first.

James spent the next couple of hours researching what he could about the Novaxans, and finding different colors to use. Each time he had a new color, in several shades, he would hand it to her and she would place it on what was slowly becoming a grid. The way he managed to piece it, vibrant blue's were happy while desaturated shades were sad. Green was either excited, or content, but good either way while pale green meant something was wrong. The way she mimicked puking made him think it meant sick.

Orange was ready to run, while yellow was caution and red meant danger or willing to fight, at least that was his understanding. Pink and purple were arousal colors, no doubt about that, while the more intense versions of each would glow, which they managed to piece together using some old glow sticks from Halloween.

He'd managed to learn that they were supposed to have jobs and clothes that suited their species talents and needs. They were also supposed to be extremely gifted in learning and understanding new information, which he smiled at. She should be able to learn how to speak English soon enough. When he heard a knock at the door, he found several videos used to teach babies how to speak and had her sit down to watch them. He gathered the assortment of cards from the table and headed to the door, showing the green card to her before leaving. That seemed to calm her down enough to focus on the video.

He opened the door to see the look of playful suspicion he'd expected on his sister's face. She walked right past him, hoping to find the mystery woman who should be sitting in her brother's home. She had a small grocery bag of old clothes in one hand and a coffee in the other.

"Okay, where's miss "not my naked girlfriend"?", she giggled.

"You...should listen for a bit first. Then I'll introduce you."

"But I wanna meet heeeeer.", she whined. James lead her to the sofa and sat her down.

"In a minute. She's...trying to learn English."

Her playful demeanor dropped. "What?"

They could hear a full voice from a playful kid's show in the background, and an odd semi-buzzing voice echoing the basic words slowly.

"...That's an odd accent... Where's she from that people sound like French bees?"

James took a deep breath before speaking slowly. "She's Novaxan."

Sally shot out of her seat and half screamed, "What?! James! You didn't get cleared for this, what if someone finds out!"

He stood and started shushing her, unable to be upset at her reaction. "I know, I know but please let me explain before you tell the whole neighborhood." She managed to sit back down, breathing somewhat heavily. James continued, "She popped up last night in my back yard, naked and almost dead from dehydration."

"And you didn't tell anyone?!"

"No, Sally, not yet. Not until I know why."

"What makes you think there even is a why?"

He stared at her. "Sally. Would you nearly starve yourself to **** and break into a stranger's yard if you weren't in some kind of major trouble? Not to mention, they're supposed to have these special suits they wear that keep them hydrated and alive for most of a day... and she's missing her's. For some reason. There's a why, and if she can't tell anyone what it is no one can help her."

Sally's eyes widened extremely as he walked her through his reasoning. "Okay...okay that makes sense but...why did you call me?"

From the other room they heard another sentence echoed in the same strange voice.

"...Because I need someone to keep her from freaking out when I'm at work this week...and if you can get her to tell you anything, even better. Now come on, I already managed to get her to know you're safe so let's introduce you."

As he started to open the door, Sally grabbed his arm, pale and nervous. "What... what does she look like?"

"...Blue."
