Maleficent sent her minions to look for the baby Aurora, she realized that her curse was going to fail at this rate. She thought to herself, "Even if I find the girl, there is a chance I could fail. I need a plan in case I fail. So what is my curse now?

Two, prevent him from awakening the Girl. The first was more likely then not her fiance, Prince Phillip. Their Marriage would unite the two kingdoms.

She summoned an image of young boy, before changing it to age him up to eighteen. Her became a handsome youth, strong and fair. It had been many centuries before the dark fairy had taken a lover, but this man did give her... 'stirrings'. A sly smile crossed her face.

'If this young prince was my lover, instead of The Girl, then he wouldn't be looking for poor dear. Then the Princess would continue to sleep. Sailing through the ages in dream.
