Chihiro gave a yelp of surprise as a nearby clerk began to turn her way. The ill-clothed girl picked up two books from the table by the door, flipped them open, and shoved them against the front of her chest and pelvic area, respectively. Chihiro barely succeeded in concealing her nudity, though neither the fact that she was barefoot nor sporting a bare midriff... at best.
"Uh... can, I help you?" The bespectacled clerk was obviously confused at the sight before him, but rather than believe the blushing brunette would waltz into a book store in the nude, he went with the far more reasonable explanation that it was some lost beach-goer in a bikini.
Chihiro, indeed blushing as heavily as could be, just gave a quick shake of her head, holding the books as close to her as she could. Well, she did need help! Just... in as quiet and as subtle a way as possible.
"I... um, could you tell me where the bathrooms are?"
It was the only safe choice. She could hide there, maybe hope for someone familiar to help, or if nothing else, wait for the store to close.
There was an awkward silence, then the clerk pointed. Chihiro's eyes followed, and past the main section of books and more than a few readers, was the bathrooms... and a pair of detectors in front of them. She would not be taking those books in there. Which meant she wouldn't be taking ANYTHING in there.
"Uh, thank you..." With that bashful comment, the young man sighed and went back to his book. Those types never ceased to amaze.
