Physical Exam

It was time for my routine physical exam. I think health is the most important thing in life and you don't want anything to creep up on you. Even though I'm only 21 and it's unlikely my doctor will find anything, I still like to be safe. Unfortunately my usual clinic closed down and I was referred to a new one.

I had just finished talking with the receptionist and she pointed me towards the waiting room, so I went over and took a seat in the corner of the room because it gave me a good view of everyone else who was waiting. As far as I could tell from a brief glance around the room, there was about a dozen other people, including a young man who I guessed was late teens, maybe 19-20 years old sitting with an older woman who seemed to be his mother. I already caught him eyeing my legs earlier when I was talking to the receptionist, even more so now I was sitting down. I was careful to keep my legs pointed away from him.

"Sarah Williams." a young woman called out. That would be me. I stood up and followed her into the examination room. It was long and narrow, with a few curtain partitions for privacy, inside each was a bed and beside it a table. Near the door into the room there was a few chairs for the patients to wait and some scales for measuring patient's height and weight. It was pretty standard as far as I could tell.

"Alright, so is everything fine lately, anything you've been worried about?" she raised her eyebrows at me.

"No, nothing to mention. Just here for a quick check-up. Sorry but I've never met you before I don't think. What's your name?"

"I'm Dr. Harris. I'm new here but well qualified, I assure you." she smiled. "Shall we get started then?" I nodded at her. "Good. Just sit on the chair here for me, please. I'll be back in a moment" she disappeared off behind one of the curtains, I guessed she was preparing one of the beds for me. It was a bit awkward as the room was almost silent, the sounds of her movements and the distant echoes from the rest of the clinic being the only noises in the room.

"Alright, ready for you now. Come on in. I just need to quickly fetch some papers from the other room. If you'd kindly strip down for when I return, and I'll do a quick check over your skin for any abnormalities." She smiled and pulled the curtains open. "If you'd please leave your clothes on the table here, I'll be back in a few minutes. Oh, and fair warning. It's best to stay behind the curtain. This is a shared exam room, so other patients might be arriving soon." She warned.

I was now all alone in the room. Admittedly I was a little curious so I wandered down to the end. There was nothing very interesting to see, but I did wonder who else was scheduled here. There was nobody else here at the moment but it definitely got used, the bed sheets weren't made but they were clean at least.

Anyway, I'd best not get distracted for too long, I thought. The doctor would be returning soon. I stripped off my clothes, which was basically just my shirt and skirt. I skipped underwear today because I knew they'd be examining everywhere as part of my exam and thought it would speed things up. I laid them down on the table as instructed. My heart started to beat faster as I remembered what she said about this not being a private room, anyone could decide to wander in at any moment, although only other patients and doctos/nurses were very likely to come in I suppose. Still, I pulled the curtain shut, and at the perfect time too, as I heard the door swing open a few seconds later. I couldn't tell if it was Dr. Harris so I stayed behind the curtain, and I didn't really want to announce my presence either, being completely naked. So I waited.
