Part 2: The New Normal

The events of 'Part 2: The new normal' take place about 8 weeks after the end of the last chapter. Below is a brief overview of where each of the major characters finds themselves now. It is not an exhaustive list of the characters and I will add updates for some of the others not yet on here as the story devlops.

Alex: After the events of the first weeks at uni life had settled into a rhythm of sorts. With lectures starting and taking up the job at the shop I found the wild antics of the first few weeks began were not to be repeated, at least not as often.

Abby: I kept seeing Abby, and we continued to build on what had started the night I lost my virginity. She never wanted to become an official couple and neither did I. I never slept with anyone else though and I don't think she did either, we just didn't want to label it. That all said the initial honeymoon period had started to peter out and the sex was becoming less frequent.

Annie: My busty flatmate remained a beautiful reminder of the night of mistaken identity, she never knew of her mistake and I was still unsure how she had even got into my room in the first place. Annie and Josh were still a thing although they would have their rocky patches they seemed to get through them.

Gemma: She almost seemed like a completely different person these days. While there was still the odd tease or that classic smirk, it was never any more. I think she was being respectful of what Abby and myself had going on and didn't want to fuck that up for me. Although I do admit I miss the teasing, the stories and the plans. It also probably didn't help that her course seemed to be hell on earth requiring her to be working in the library constantly.

Lucca: My mysterious Italian flatmate was as much of an enigma as ever. None of us in the flat ever saw him much, only in passing in the kitchen. From what little we had gleaned is he had a girlfriend back home who I could hear him chatting to his room most night.

Matt: I got on well with Matt still, he lived a fairly self-contained life in his room. Not one for nights out he would regularly hotbox his bathroom with Gemma. He said the weed was to help with the migraines he suffered from, I wasn't one to doubt it really and he did seem in less discomfort when he had smoked recently.

Jake: After my initial hesitation about Jake he had pretty much become my closest friend at university. We worked together, partied together and generally hang out. Despite plenty of interest, I hadn't yet seen him settle down for a girl, not to say he wasn't getting any but I never met any of his 'conquests'.

Mike: Continued to be the muscle-bound tool he was the first time I met him. Despite living with people I hung out with I generally spent as little time as possible with him. Abby avoided him like the plague even more. I never did find out if Gemma taught him a lesson or not.

Rosey + JJ (Johnny): Because of what I had with Abby I had to resist the urge to repeat events with these two. Not for lack of trying on their half especially why we were drinking. They certainly had the most open relationship going.
