Part 2: Earth.

After finishing their training sessions with Master Pakku and helping to rebuild the city, Aang and his friends decided to take off again. It had been nice to stay in the same place for a couple of weeks, but Aang and Katara were really getting a grip on waterbending by then, and they had so much more to do. First on the agenda - find a teacher so Aang can learn earthbending as well. He was already halfway technically, but there still was so much to do and he didn't want to waste another second. Waving goodbye to all the great people they had met back in the icy city, they took off in Appa's saddle into their new adventures...

100 years ago, before Aang got stuck in the iceberg, Bumi had already been one of the best earthbenders in the Earth Kingdom. Together with Aang's personal relationship with the King of Omashu, it made sense for the group to return to that large city. They had managed to take one of the Water Tribe ships to cross the ocean, and since Appa had plenty of energy left thanks to that, it didn't take long before they landed on a hill nearby Omashu to take a look at the impressive walls again. They had never been able to suspect what had happened there... Thick black clouds of smoke were running up from the city, suggesting that there was a lot of industry going on inside which was already a new thing. But more importantly, a large red flag with a flame on it could be seen hanging down above the gate, with Fire Nation soldiers standing on top of the wall and right at the only entrance to the city.

While they had protected the North Pole from getting in the claws of the Fire Nation, Omashu had fallen...
