Out for cocktails at a classy nightclub

"We're going out for cocktails at a classy nightclub. Just two girls out on the town, eh?" Carol nudged you as you walked towards the car.

"You know, I'm not much of a going out type of girl and... wouldn't you rather spend the night in with your husband?" you asked, hoping to appeal to the '50s sensibilities.

"Don't worry about Steve. He's spending the evening at the country club with his buddies from work. Oh, I have to take you there with a guest pass one weekend, you'll love it." Carol said.

Trapped with nowhere else to go, and limited with funds, you climbed into Carol's car, loading everything into the backseat, before moving into the passenger seat.

"This place is lovely. And the music is so hip!" Carol smiled as she drove.

You gazed out the window, trying to find any semblance of masculinity in your appearance as Carol prattled on and on.

"Oh, honey. Use your compact. It's in the purse." Carol reminded.

You sighed and reluctantly dug into the purse, finding a compact makeup mirror. Of course, the act of using it negated any masculinity, so it was ultimately a lost cause.

Arriving at the nightclub, you were surprised at the classy atmosphere, given what the club atmosphere was like in your own time period. But here, it was like that scene from that mafia movie. It was all a little overwhelming, especially given how **** you felt. Though the jazz music was extremely good, and you found yourself tapping your foot as you waited for Carol to pay the cover charge, which she generously covered for you, given your financial situation.

After getting a drink, something called a Pink Squirrel which was actually rather tasty, Carol started to search for a table to sit at, while wandering through the crowds...
