Our eyes meet

I walked into the terminal and saw you waving the sign around with my first name on it. It was the first time I had seen you in years, the tall trim canine of a father that made me question a little if I was actually yours but then I remembered how waggy my tail sometimes was.

I smiled and my eyes filled up with tears as I saw you as not just a father but a savior from my horrible situation. As you confirmed that you were in fact my father I ran up to you and slammed into you, hugging you tight with both arms. "Dad..." I sighed softly into your chest as we embraced for a long time, holding each other tight in the middle of the airport while we got to catch up on nearly a decade of missed hugs.

I was nearly in tears knowing that I was finally safe from my mother and from the horrible fate of becoming a strangers bride. I didn't want to mention it to you all at once, there was a time and a place but right now this definitely wasn't it.

Him

The hug almost pushed me off my feet but I quickly wrapped my arms around you and held you tight to me, not saying a word but just enjoying the moment your small free right next to my chest. "I'm soo sorry honey, I really tried my best to contact but I couldn't. I hope you are not mad at me are you ?" stroking the hair away from your face I look into your little blue eyes, from the way you looked at me I understood that you were a long way from being angry at me. "I'm here now hun and I'm never letting go"

I pull back and smile at you wiping away the tears from your eyes and leaning down to place a kiss on your forehead "I missed you a lot Sweetheart, I didn't think you'd come back but I never gave up " my eyes were tearing up too but I quickly wipe them away with the back of my hand and sport a wide smile at you. "Let's go hun we'll catch up on the way. I'm taking you to my favourite diner, you'll love the food there. I know you are hungry so first let's fill out tummies"

Taking your hand I slowly walk ahead leading you to my car "Ava, I know there's lots and lots to catch up and we'll slowly do all that but first I want to know if you are ok and happy. That's all that matters nothing more " As we reach the car I open up the passenger side for you to get in "After you my lovely lady " I walk on over to the other side and get in before strapping in and checking on you "Off to a happy lunch !"
