Chapter 36 by Warmonger69 Warmonger69

What's next?

Orfarion ( 2 ) ( Main Story )

Inside one room in one of the many inns of the city, Miraak's group sat on the room's table.

Miraak Dragonfire.

Asa Stormcloak.

Iphislia.

Arel Aeroris.

Kieran Virhice.

The five of them stared at each other for some seconds.

Since the group's leader was Miraak, they all turned to him, excluding the Chimer Kieran.

He wasn't part of the group, he was just their contractee.

So, standing up and leaving the room, Kieran said, "... I'm gonna start selling my merchandise... I hope that when I leave the city, you can still be my bodyguards."

Staring at the Merchant's back as he left, Miraak sighed and said looking at the rest of the group, "We're gonna stay for a week... Do whatever you seem appropriate."

Standing up, Miraak slowly left the room, leaving the trio alone.

Asa and Iphislia stared at each other and smirked at the same time and the same way.

Their bodies slowly started to dissolve into black shadows as they dashed into opposite windows.

Seeing everyone leaving, Arel sighed and murmured to himself, "... Looks like it's just me and my tomes."

Taking out an Adept Ice Spell Tome, Arel started studying as he relaxed on his chair.

...

As sunlight shone on the road, Miraak, who was covered in a black silk cloak, slowly walked forward.

Sensing Asa and Iphislia already moving, he slightly smiled proudly.

'... Looks like I trained them way too well.' He thought contently.

After all, they understood the message behind his words and took action immediately.

Full control of Orfarion's criminal influence, the fastest possible.

As long the Royal family doesn't move directly, the city will soon be in his hands, just like Rifton.

As Miraak walked, he felt the same shitty gaze at his back.

He felt the same way when his old master, Hermaeus Mora, monitored him in Apocrypha.

There was a time he felt secure under such gaze, but now, it just made him angry.

Before the floating eyeball, made of pure ice with an extremely reddish pupil, could react, it was locked in place by an enormous potent lock spell.

It was if time itself stopped around the eyeball.

As Miraak slowly turned around.

His eyes started to change.

From bored to serious.

As he stared at the reddish pupil, an extremely pure pressure left his body toward the eyeball.

...

Inside the Reddish Lorathyra Royal's Palace, a mature woman could be seen sitting on the throne.

Feeling the pressure from Miraak, the Queen smiled more and more provocatively.

Her pure white teeth glowed under the sunlight as she stared at Miraak through the floating eyeball.

Such pressure, such presence, when was the last time she saw such an interesting being.

Pressure equal to her own made the Queen quite 'excited'.

Wearing her pure reddish dress detailed by stunning whitish details and her reddish gloves, the Queen's pure reddish lips slowly formed a distorted ice-cold smile.

...

Stopping his actions, Miraak sighed as he destroyed the eyeball to pieces.

He knew that he couldn't pressure such a monster as the Queen of Orfarion into submission by his soul pressure alone.

Different from the King of Rifton, who was a weakling and a bastard, the Queen of Orfarion was a different being.

Being born into the Lorathyra Royal Family, proficient in Blood & Ice Magic together, already made her a monstrous being.

She, who came from the infamous Lorathyra Family, the Royal Family of Orfarion, the family who would sacrifice the Elder to empower the Young ones every generation.

The Queen gladly killed her parents with a smile on her face.

Being the most dangerous Family on the Elven Empire, they were the Empire's sword in War times.

The pressure he showed was just a Warning.

'Don't try to interfere with my businesses'.

Knowing that he would need to show the Queen the invite to the peak of the mountain so he could harvest the Unmelting Snow, Miraak sighed slightly annoyed.

Shaking his head, he continued walking forward.

To the Library of Orfarion.

...

In the middle of the city, an enormous temple could be seen.

The luxurious Library of Orfarion.

With a big and stunning statue of Auri-El itself on the front and different exquisite details engraved on its walls, the temple was stunning, the pinnacle of Snow Elven Architecture.

Of course, Miraak just glanced at it and walked over.

Strangely enough, the temple was open to the public.

But, Miraak knew that they wouldn't open the VIP part of the library to the public, so he entered the temple and started to search for the VIP entrance.

Taking out the reward of the Frozencaller Tournament, the invite to the VIP location, Miraak saw that it was enchanted with a specialized Clairvoyance rune.

Knowing that it would probably show the way to the VIP location, Miraak slowly injected Magicka into the invite.

Suddenly, from the document, a strange cyanish fog started to form.

Like a snake, it showed the way.

Strangely, no one around him could see the Spell's effect.

Only the one holding the invite could see it.

Sighing, Miraak followed the path until it finally stopped at a bookcase, in the far right corner.

As he glared at the bookcase, Miraak just sighed.

They surely made it 'complicated' to annoy the guests.

It was an enchanted bookcase that would open itself if put the right password.

All Miraak had to do was slightly push backward the books with the correct initials.

'W', 'H', 'E', 'N', 'I', 'C', 'E', 'F', 'A', 'L', 'L', 'S', 'A', 'U', 'R', 'I', 'E', 'L', 'L', 'I', 'S', 'T', 'E', 'N', 'S'.

'L', 'O', 'N', 'G', 'L', 'I', 'V', 'E', 'A', 'U', 'R', 'I', 'E', 'L'.

As he finally pushed the last book backward, the bookcase opened itself, showing long stairs, seemingly infinite, impossible to see the end.

Tilting his head backward, Miraak stared at the stairs.

He knew the directions that the stairs were going, and it made him slightly irritated.

It was the direction of the insides of the Gigantic Mountain, the 'Throat of the World' and right under the Royal Palace.

Shooking his head, Miraak started descending the endless stairs.
