Open your eyes

James awoke the next morning, due to being shaken violently. The sun had barely begun to rise, and she was already this awake? When he opened his eyes, he saw that she'd turned pale and looked horrified. As soon as he steadied himself in her grip she relaxed, flopping onto his bed and slowly returning to her deep blue color. Tired, he looked at the clock. 7:39am. He was supposed to have another half hour on his days off. He looked back down at her, seeing her face looked exhausted and happy. Then he remembered the night before, when she thought he'd been dying when he pretended to sleep.

Sighing, he reached for his phone. He sent a message to his little sister.

Hey Sal? Think you can drop by today? I have a new house guest I need help with.

No you don't, you have to have friends to have house guests. But sure, I can come over.

Thanks. She's a handful, though. You know me and other cultures, after all.

A foreign lady? Ooooh, I wondered how long it'd take for you to lure an asian gal.

He tossed his phone onto the pillow, passing by his new guest and preparing a pot of coffee. She looked around the cupboards, this time not throwing his things around. He put a pan on the stove, and set about making several eggs. When she saw them she smiled briefly, until his cracking of them shocked her and she tried to touch the pan.
