One night before the War will start

Chapter 135 by Colleem Colleem

"Is everything going well?" Umbra asked her when she came back into the hall. Meanwhile there were about 50 Were-Cats who were taught by the seven dead sins what it meant to be a Were-Cat. Even though the seven were quite cheeky and completely different, each of them had completely internalized the purpose of their race. The people they had chosen had not been chosen by random choice. Each of them had been chosen very carefully. They all wore the mark of Umbra. They were chosen. They would all be excellent heirs of their destiny. They lacked the aggression of the werewolves and were endowed with increased empathy.

"I have seen the tool that Mother Umbra chose to end this war." She said thoughtfully.

"You seem to be worried?" Umbra asked thoughtfully. It wasn't a good sign when Bastet was worried.

"He's unlike anything I've ever seen. He is dangerous". She said thoughtfully and took a seat on her blanket. Umbra walked through the room and lay down on the floor in front of her. Even though the hall was very large, it wasn't really designed for creatures of this size. More than once Umbra had already bumped his head.

"I know you like it when you sound mystical and mysterious, but to tell you the truth... I don't understand a word when you're like that and just nodded."

Bastet laughed amused and licked himself over the paw. "And you look very noble in that. Very well. I will explain to you what I mean. His body is pumped full of a substance that is poisonous. Only the curse keeps him alive or even on his feet. However, this substance gives him extreme power and strength."

"Pure strength will not do anything against Dracula." Umbra only reluctantly admitted.

"That's right. But I fear that this enemy has more than pure strength. He has an excellent instinct. He wanted to attack me, but his instinct warned him in time. He appears to be very clever. And I fear he is not alone."

"Then tomorrow will be the day" Umbra asked and pricked up his ears.

"No. I don't see the big fight tomorrow night yet. They won't hit each other directly yet. First their servants will meet before the two will collide. Only then will the fate of the world be fulfilled."

"Will we make it" he asked.

"Do you want an answer... or a hunch?" Bastet asked cryptically.

"Where is the difference?

" One thing will be a lie. "

"So, you don't know for sure." Sigh Umbra and Bastet nodded slowly and deliberately.

"We did everything we could to prepare for this moment. From now on it is no longer in our hands, but in hers. How far is Mother prepared?"

"She is ready. Soon she will go to him. She is slowly beginning to remember her life.

"She will leave us father. Said Bastet sadly and purred quietly as her tail slowly commuted back and forth.

"She will, yes. We knew this day would come and we knew we'd let her go. That's her fate and we won't be driven by personal feelings. The matter is far too important for that."

"Thus, speaks a true leader father. I am very proud of you. Nevertheless, you will miss her" she laughed amusedly. " You fuck her just too often for that!"

Deep under Gotham City.

"Hey boss! Everything okay? You seem nervous" laughed one of the werewolves amused just to catch an instant blow that turned the skull of the big mouth into a mass of blood and pulp. Furious as hell he screamed at his pack and straightened up to full size. The werewolves who were nearby immediately went to the ground and rolled submissively onto their backs. Not even one was able to escape the brute leadership of their Alpha. Only very few of them had been so strong-willed that they had kept part of their minds. Most of them were no more than wild beasts, but their leader was Alpha.

"Does anyone else have anything to say?" growled the Alpha angrily, looking at the wolves on the ground. "I want EVERY fucking person you can find! GET OUT! he finally yelled, and the wolves stormed off to obey their Alpha's orders.

Full moon.

Everyone in Gotham knew.

Tonight, was full moon.

Even the most stupid and uneducated people knew that tonight the plague of werewolves would return, worse than ever. Already in the night before the full moon hundreds of people had disappeared. There were countless rumors that people had been kidnapped by wolves on the open road. The worst rumor, however, was that Batman himself was a werewolf. So, Vicky Vale had told the truth. There were thousands of rumors about him, but all had a common core. Batman had saved human lives. Even as a werewolf, he was still the protector of humans.

But everyone felt that tonight would come the final fight. There were whole streams of refugees who wanted to be as far away from the castle as possible when it got dark. It was clear to everyone that the battle would begin right there tonight. But not even the craziest of people knew how bad it would really be.

The hope of the people in the superheroes had long since gone. Neither Superman nor Wonder Woman had come to their aid. As always, they could only rely on Batman.

On the Dark Knight.
