"See?" Angelica asked after winning the last trick, grinning triumphantly as her three kings also beat the other's one and two pairs. "Told ya!"

Another trade later, Angie started the game boldly with Ace of Spades, then continued with the queen but lost to the first of Ginny's three kings. After that her incomplete flush stood no chance at all, and she looked seriously regretful as she checked the other's cards.

"Looks like you'll have to give it a try at least." Ginny smiled at her, but then patted her comfortingly on the shoulder. "Though you may bail out if you're not okay with it of course...?

"Well... Thanks..." Angelica mumbled with an uneasy smile, but then slowly stood up and turned her back to the table while looking at her opponents over her shoulder. "I really hate losing... But I'd hate myself even more if I didn't follow the rules!"
