On the train

Jacob had looked at the clock along the road and his eyes widened if i'm going to make the train tonight i gotta get shopping he thought and quickly bought his supplies with his mother and father trailing behind him "whats the big rush?" his father Luke asked which caused Jacob to smile his training comming in use "im going to make sure i got enough stuff to take the train tonight" he said not giving them time for a rebuttal he checked what was already in his arms robes, cauldron, potion supplies the only thing missing was his wand "which i should get at school" he muttered and his new pet. Jacob looked back to his parent's and hugged them both pocketing enough money for the last of his supplies from his father "alright i got enough money for the rest you two head on home and enjoy a semi-empty house" he said knowingly and gestured them towards the floo portals.

Jacob was sad to see his parent's go make no mistake but the chance to talk to and possibly even more to a beautiful second year woman had him thinking with his other brain and he rushed to the owlery he had already scoped out a pet last time he was here with his sisters he just hoped that the old man who ran the owlery still had it. Jacob went into the store to a chorus of hoot's and noise the old man seeing jacob smiled gently to him "ah back again young jacob?" the old man asked to which Jacob smiled back and held up a thin book on owl care "yup i was wondering if you still had him" Jacob asked looking around and as soon as he asked a Great horned owl came and roosted on his shoulder. Jacob not used to the weight yet almost toppled over but just managed to keep his balance and the old shopkeeper chuckled "seem's we do" he simply said and Jacob reached up and very lightly scratched his head "there you are" Jacob said as after a few scratches the owl snapped at him "ok, ok" he said retracting his hand and looked at the owl "how much" Jacob asked and the shopkeeper smiled "for you a discount since you're the only one he lets touch him let alone show any affection towards" he said.

Jacob had to wonder how much trouble this great horned owl was if getting it sold registered a discount but shrugged causing the owl to let out a disgruntled hoot and move down to his arm and after Jacob paid for him the shopkeeper smiled "now for a name" and that caused Jacob to facepalm with his other hand and he took a long look at the horned owl then smirked "how about Lucifer" Jacob said and the owl gave one long hoot "seems he likes it" the shopkeeper said and the newly dubbed Lucifer flapped its wings "alright alright we're going" Jacob said suddenly realizing what time it was. Jacob put Lucifer in his roomy cage and rushed to the train platform where he jumped over someone wheeling their luggage in a different train and headed straight for a brick wall on the end of the platform _damn damn damn this is gonna cut it tight _he thought running right through the wall to the final toot of the train and the "ALL ABOARD FOR ILVERMORNY" shout of the train conductor to which he ran up and presented his pass and the train conductor quietly chuckled "cutting it a bit close aren't we" he rhetoricly asked and waved him aboard with all the other late comers and gratefully he found an open cabin and after stuffing his bags and supplies on the upper storage Jacob collapsed into the somewhat comfy seat
