On Deck

Andrew once again clung to Brian hoping to deter obnoxious guys from leering at him but to no avail. He comforted himself by reminding himself that in a few hours this would be over and he would have greatly helped out his best friend. Brian pulled him closer, wrapping his arm around 'her' waist. It was getting easier to walk in heels the less he thought about it.

The pair arrived at the movie theater and looked for something good to watch. "Ooh, Battle of Blood! I've been wanting to see that!" Andrew pointed at the poster of multiple men and women engaging in a violent brawl.

"Is that really a date movie though, Andrea?"

Andrew frowned, remembering his situation. "You're right..." he scanned the other movies but they had both seen all the ones they wanted to see.

"Okay, that one." He pointed to a poster of a man and woman wrapped in a romantic embrace, and painfully close to kissing. "The Manager."

Andrew really hated romantic comedies, sure they were great for getting in a girl's pants but they bored him to tears. He quickly looked frantically for any other movie he could find that would qualify as a date movie. "Yeah but what about 'The Thing from Space'?"

"A horror movie? You hate those?" Brian omitted the fact he hated them too. They scared the bejesus out of him. Andrew simply found them all dumb, but not as dumb as romantic comedies.

"Yeah, but it's a date movie too. What did I tell ya before? Scary movies make girls jump and you get to 'protect' and comfort them. Girls love a guy who can protect them."

"I guess you did. So romance or horror?" Brian finished his sentence with an obvious frown.

"You choose. Handsome." Andrew was hoping to butter Brian up.
