Old Friends Reunited!

You and Sakura are now sitting on a bench outside of the academy. It's so quiet that you could hear a senbon drop. While you are shaken with nervousness, Sakura is happily humming while eating her lunch.

"John? Are you okay? You seem quiet", Sakura asks you with a worried look on her face.

"I-I'm fine Sakura! Really! Just a little surprised is all", you say back.

"Surprised? Why's that?"

"Well before today I assumed that you didn't really think much of me, Sakura. I had thought since I was little kid that the only person you cared about was Sasuke", you laugh while rubbing the back of your head.

Sakura giggles, "It's funny you say that John. I has thought that you disliked me for a while now".

You looked at her shocked, "What? Why would think that Sakura?"

"Well it just seemed that you stopped spending time with me out of no where. Every time I saw you, you were that girl who wears her hair in buns. You completely stopped hanging out with me. I....", she looks away from you, "missed you, idiot".

You can feel your heart beating a mile a minute. But why? You like TenTen. Right?

"Sakura, I'm about to tell you something important so please look me in eye", you say to her, trying your hardest to sound calm.

She turns to look at you. Her cheeks are flushed and her eyes seem to be trying their hardest to not start watering up. You just now realized how selfish you were as a kid. It didn't matter whether Sakura liked Sasuke or you. You were supposed to be there for her and you weren't at all. You had abandoned her, but that will end here now.

"Sakura, I promise as a Leaf Ninja, your teammate and most of all your friend. From now on till the day I die, I will never abandon you again! I will always be there for you no matter what!", you say with your eyes looking directly into Sakura's. "I always keep my promises! It's my Ninja Way!" You felt like your heart was gonna burst out of your chest.

Sakura's response is not what you expected at all.

She lunges at you. Wraps her arms around your neck and mets her lips with yours.
