Insist that you should meet at the restaurant.

“Please, I insist,” you reply. “Let me take you out for a nice dinner tonight. How about Les Pommes? It’s a new French restaurant, and they’re famous for their apple-based desserts.”

After a few minutes she replies. “Fine, I’ll meet you there at 6. But no funny business.”

“Of course not,” you say. “By the way, it’s a kind of fancy place. The dress code isn’t that strict, but don’t show up in a casual outfit.” You worry that this might be getting to complicated. You hope that she will follow through on the meeting.

You get a response; “that shouldn’t be a problem. See you then!”

You were excited to meet up with Tina. You were also glad that you avoided Jeff’s place. That guy gave of a certain tinge of discomfort, even if you barely knew him.

You went to your closet and tried to decide what to wear. You could dress conservatively — in a blazer and buttoned down shirt — to portray your good-boy side. You could also subvert expectations with an edgier look — perhaps an all-black outfit would do the trick.
