Off the grid.

You were already standing outside the main doors ready to go when Luca arrived. She gave you a sly look before saying "Ready to get in some trouble?"

You shrugged and fell in with the lucario, keeping pace with her. "I guess so. Where are we going exactly?"

"You'll see..." Luca said as she turned and headed for the border of the compound. "I'm taking you to one of my favorite spots. Its a little under the radar though."

The arena compund was walled and fenced off, much like an amusement park would be. Luca lead you to the very edge of the arena before stopping in front of the tall barbed wire topped fence. "This might seem a little sneaky, but I technically don't have permission to take you out of the compound." Luca said, moving to one of the large steel posts the fence was attatched to. She grabbed a portion not quite attached and pulled it back, revealing a sizeable gap. "After you."

You nodded and ducked through the gap, taking your first steps out of the arena since coming here a few months ago. You were on the side of a highway nearvy the outskirts of the city. As it was evening, traffic was winding down, but there were still a small few cars on the road. As Luca came through she pushed you into a squatting position in the tall grass on the other side of the fence. "Keep down. Our ride will be here soon."

Sure enough, a car pulled up, stopping briefly nearby your position, and Luca grabbed you gently by the bicep. "Alright lets go." She said, urging you towards the car. As the two of you hopped in, the driver, a gruff looking herdier, turned to Luca. "Hey, Luca. Finally came around did ya?"

"In your dreams Hal." Luca smirked, engaging in the herdier's playful banter. "You didn't pick me up just so you can try to pick me up, did you?"

The herdier laughed heartily anf put the car in gear. "Can't blame me for taking my shot. So where to?"

"We're going to the Indigo."

"Going to get a little rough are we?"

Luca grinned at Hal's comment. "That's the idea." The lucario turned to you then, and you noticed that with the entire backseat open to the both of you, Luca had chosen to sit in the middle right next to you. "Sorry for the secrecy. You may have earned yourself a lot more freedom on the arena compound. But a trip away from the arena has to be approved by the Mistress. And usually you'd have a security escort. I didn't want to bother with all that."

You nodded, not minding the chance to get out and escape. "So what is the Indigo?"

"The Indigo is a little bar I know of. Its off the grid, unknown to anyone not in the right circles. They do things there that... aren't exactly legal."

Your eyebrows raised curiously. "Not legal?"

"Nothing like that!" Luca said quickly. "They have pokemon battles there. Actual battles, which you know were outlawed not long after the uprising. Its a rougher bar, but its a good time all the same."

Your thoughts raced as you headed to your destination. Actual pokemon battles? You'd never seen one yourself, but they were the biggest sport in the world for a very long time. With pokemon running the world though, it was natural they would be banned eventually. The car eventually pulled up next to a nondescript warehouse, and you and Luca stepped out and approached the security hut out front.

A uniformed machoke stopped you and Luca before you could enter though. "Warehouse is off limits to unauthorized personell." He said gruffly.

"Helix." Luca said, barely slowing down. You looked increduosly at Luca but the security guard simply nodded and opened the door for the two of you. You followed the lucario inside, finding the interior to be as bland and boring as the outside. All the warehouse contained were stacks of lumber and drywall, but Luca moved confidently past these until she came to one pile set aside from the others. She walked around the back and as you followed her, finding a thin stairwell concealed by the stacks. "You ready to have some fun?" Luca asked, turning back to you as the two of you descended the stairs.
