Of Course Not

Sam sat down to the morning briefing with Teal'c, Daniel and O'Neill were at the front of the room talking.

"We have a problem people, we detecte some unsual energy spikes last night." said O'Neill he brought up a reading on the computer screen.

"What is it?" asked Teal'c.

"Those dimension shifting sons of bitches we fought last month." replied O'Neill.

"The readings appeared hours last night then vanished about an hour ago." said Daniel.

"that was strange," thought Sam, that was right around the time she woke up from her dream.

"The readings are no where near as big as last time," continued Daniel, "So it's possible we are dealing with only one being or even a small scouting peice of technology."

"Either way I want it found, I don't wan those things trying to invade again." said O'Neill.

Sometime later Sam entered the lab to see how Daniel was progressing with the latest project to monitor the Stargate.

"How's it going then." she asked.

"We've been running field tests the last few nights and so far the seem promising finding exits for the gate." he replied.

"Lets see it then."

Daniel began powering up the recently aquired alien technology but as he did he notice Sam blacking out.

Suddenly she was on the table of the briefing room performing a striptease for some of the junior technitions but before she could get anywhere with it she was back in the lab with Daniel.

"Are you all right you seemed to blackout." he asked.

"Fine." she said shaking off what just happened.

Daniel then looked at his instruments and noticed that the same energy spike had appeared as before during the exact moments Sam had blacked out.

"This isn't good." he said.

"So what does this mean." asked General O'Neill.

"Sam was in direct contact with one of those aliens when Teal'C fired on sending it back to it's one dimension, some of the energy from the shift has enbedded itself in Sam's brian and it's reacting with the new scanner technology we have been using." said Daniel.

"It's like I have been living a different life. I thought I was dreaming but it seems that everytime we power up the scanner my subconsious shifts into another dimension which is probablly why I'm only an observer rather than a participent in events." said Sam

"This of course means that the new Stargates we have been detecting are most likely alternate versions of our own."

"Fine shut down the project." said O'Neill.

"That won't make much of a differnce, the risidual energy has begun to disrupt brain functions, unless it's eradicated it's going to kill me." said Sam, "Daniel and I think we can modify the scanner to find and eradicate the energy."

Later that day Sam was in the medlab lying under a modified version of the scanner designed to wipe out all risidual energy in her brain.

Daniel activated it and monitored her brain activity noting that it was working when suddenly he noticed that Sam's body was beginning to phase. Realising that something was wrong he tried to stop the experiment but it was to late Sam was gone.

"What just happened." shouted O'Neill.

"We eradicated the energy in her brain but it has disperssed throught out her body so instead of moving her mind it has moved all of her across the dimensional barrior."

"Get her back."

"I'm not sure how, before shutting down the scanner brought her back but now there isn't any of her here to come back to, wherever Sam is she'll need to find another scanner to send herself back of course when it activates there isn't any gaurentee she'll be sent back here she could just shift into another dimension."
