"I don't have anything to give you", Jake protested. "Can't you let it go just once?"
Mani shook his head.
"It's protocol", he replied. "I always follow protocol."
Jake cursed to himself, but there was nothing he could do; Mani was too stubborn. Angrily, he left the room.
