"Hmmmm. Not sure really. Lindsay really knows where to go to party, and where all the cool people hang. I?m not as clued in. I?m lucky that she?s trying to help me figure all that sort of stuff out.? Karen traced a small circle on the carpet with her big toe, and sighed. Bryan hoped she wasn?t losing interest, he had to think fast.

?You and I could go out,? Bryan said in a rush. ?I?m more clueless than you are about these things. I?m relying on my roommate too. If you and I go out, maybe we?ll surprise them both, and have a good time too. I'm not busy now.?

Karen looked up from her foot, and smiled brightly. ?That?d be awesome. I just have to grab my purse, and slip on some sandals. Why don?t you follow me? You can see my room, and maybe later I can see yours.?

?Cool,? Bryan said as he followed the cute Chinese girl into her room. He wondered if Karen?s last comment meant anything at all, beyond her just taking a look at his room.

As she bent over to pick up a pair of flat black leather sandals, her low ride jeans slid down her hips slightly to reveal the top portion of a silky white thong. As she straightened back up, Bryan looked around the room, noticing a large poster for ?My Chemical Romance?, and Pink over her bed. Karen?s bedspread was red with large black stripes, and a small stuffed black cat sat on top of the pillow. After slipping the sandals on her feet, she grabbed a small blue leather purse off of her desk.

?Let?s go.? she said as she flipped off the light. Bryan followed her out the door, down the hallway and out through the main entrance of the dorm. When they reached the sidewalk, Karen took Bryan?s hand in hers, lacing her fingers through his. Bryan?s optimism for the evening grew.

?I hope you don?t mind if I hold your hand. I mean, I know we just met, but it just seemed like the thing to do. Is that okay??

"I'm very happy to hold your hand."

She blushed slightly and turned her face away for a few brief seconds. ?I get embarrassed pretty easily, I?m trying to overcome it. If you only knew how hard it was for me to approach you. I?m really pretty shy.?

?I?m glad you did. Hey and if nothing else we?ll have a good time tonight and shock our roommates.? A soothing cool breeze blew through the trees, and Karen glanced furtively at Bryan, and then back to the sidewalk.
