Not much but studying

It's frustrating.

You recall the time spent in the egg pits. Another time when you were largely immobile, trapped in a small place with no real way to grow. The voice of the hive is gone, never to return. What did you do when you weren't speaking to your kin?

You recall Balthazar.

"Is there something I can do for you, User A Metroid?"

You ask if he can tell you what he knows about Metroids.

"Interesting question. Let me parse it."

You wait as Balthazar silently hums for you, when he comes back his tone is like the last few moments never happened.

"An interesting question with an uneasy answer. The administrators do not know anything about your species, aside from what exists within our code. I can't tell you anything personally so much as I can comment."

You ask what his comment is about you.

"User psychological profile is only 1% completed, yet shows a 64% aberrance from the expected profile for species. The profile must be completed further to measure if this is the result of unique sentience or dangerous psychopathy."

Okay. You weren't sure what exactly you expected. You ask if you currently have access to any information on Metroids.

"User A Metroid has read-only access to local and public information. If the User wishes to learn about a subject, they should perform a query. The more specific the query, the better quality of the information received. User should maintain awareness of the signal-noise ratio when-"

You dismiss Balthazar.

You fumble with the user interface being linked to your brain for a few moments before you manage to pull up the query window. Balthazar pops back into your ear.

"You could have at least let me explain how to use the query window. Impatience has been measured for psychological profiling."
