Chapter 23 by Shibbar Shibbar

The temple watches Nora ominously...

Nora is ready

Nora sneaked up to the temple, and then slinked up the steps. Once she reached the top, she was faced with an entrance two metres by two metres, leading into the pitch black depths of the temple. All sorts of strange noises eminated from inside.

She entered, determined to save Brock.

The corridor lead down like a stairwell, taking a sharp 90o turn every twenty or so steps. Occasionally it felt as if the stairs shifted, leading her down steps she's already stepped down. All the while she flashed her flashlight on the walls, illuminating otherworldly glyphs, containing crude depiction of Morloks, Men, and... other things. Nora shuddered. She made an excuse to not examine them closer; there was no time. She picked up her pace.

Eventually she saw the edge of an aura of light around a bend. She peered around the corner. She saw a great chamber, massive in size. The stairwell led straight down like a pillar on one side of this chamber, around a hundred or two hundred steps down. Bonfires of blue fire dotted the great hall, and all around them, thousands upon thousands of Morloks, all bowed down towards a raised altar on the other side. Behind the altar was a titanic egg shaped stone, coal black and etched with golden runes. It filled Nora with disgust that such a thing existed, though she wasn't sure why. The hall was echoing with a single, frantically gibbering voice; a priestess standing on the altar. She danced and flailed, spewing garbled, disgusting words at her congregation. She didn't see Brock on the altar, much to her relief.

Nora looked for Brock, finding him after a minute in a cage down next to the stairwell, one among many cages.

What's next?
