Did anything happen on the way to Kat's room?
Nope
"I think you must have convinced them you were crazy enough to kill them," Rick said when he and Kat got off the elevator.
She laughed. "I think I convinced you, too. You've mentioned my ripping your balls off at least three times."
"Trust me, I've thought about it more than that."
She opened the door to her hotel room and sniffed. "I don't smell anything. You want to check it out with your spider-senses."
"Nothing spider about them. Just ordinary senses more acutely focused." Still he stepped into her room, every nerve twitching. Plenty of hotel clerks will share a room number for a twenty buck bribe and he would feel forever guilty if baldy jumped out when Kat was sleeping. Guilty and, if truth be told, more than a little jealous. The more time he spent with her, the more he was getting to like her. She had a wicked sense of humor, legs that were both beautiful and, as she'd shown with her kicks, highly functional, and a cool taste in music. I mean, who didn't like Bob Marley?
"Looks like you're all alone," he said after a thorough inspection of the bathroom, closets and balcony.
"Nope."
"Huh?"
"You're still here."
"Oh, yeah. I'll see you tomorrow, right?"
"Oh shut up and get undressed big guy. It's our honeymoon, right?"
"Uh, I can do that."
