Chapter 11 by carnivorous cow carnivorous cow

Does anything happen during the night?

Nope, she gets a good nights rest.

Druuna, exhausted from her eventful day, slept deeply that night. At one point she woke up and thought she heard something, but after listening closely for an hour, she concluded that it had to be some wild animal and fell back asleep. She was awoken the next morning by the early morning sunshine peeking through the leaves of the forest canopy.

Druuna quickly gathered up her mud caked supplies and started walking in the direction she knew would take her further away from the beach camp she had barely escaped the night before. The morning air was crisp and clean, and Druuna felt happy to be alive, despite the predicaments she had recently encountered.

After walking through the dense underbrush for a few hours, Druuna came to a pool of clear blue water, formed by the damming of a river by an industrious beaver. Still dirty from her previous adventures, Druuna took the opportunity to wash up in the pond.

When she was finally cleaned up Druuna put her clothes back on, filled up her canteen with fresh water from the river and was about to leave when she spotted some tasty looking orange berries growing on a couple of bushes along the ponds edge. She hadn’t eaten anything since yesterday morning, and her stomach growled in protest. She was pretty sure she had read that these berries were edible in a book once. “A few berries couldn’t hurt, right?” she thought to herself.

Does she grab a few handfuls and eat them?
