Tentatively, Ben shook her hand. To his surprise, nothing happened.

Kitty smiled at his shock. "Just like I thought!" she said. "You've got to touch the person's skin directly for your power to work." Her satisfied smile dimmed a bit. "Or, it could just be drained from all the use it's gotten today. I'm sure the professor will know!"

"Professor?"

"Yeah, Professor Xavier. He's our mentor, and he knows almost everything to know about mutants. And what he doesn't know, he can find out." She said with a nod. "Come on! Let's get you on the jet so you can go meet him!"

"Do I have to go?" Ben asked with a small groan. After all, even if everyone had suddenly gone crazy, he still liked his home.

"Not forever, but it?d be best if you did, just to get your whammy under control."

Ben thought, then nodded. After all, he didn't really want Mrs. Stewart from Chemistry chasing him around like that again. Though he wouldn't mind the cheerleaders again...

Before Ben knew it, he was on the plane and it was moving.

"Everyone, this is Ben." Kitty introduced. "Ben, that redhead driving the plane is Jean. She's a telepath. Over there, with the purple hair, is Betsy. She's a long story, but she's psychic too. And back there is Rahne. She becomes a wolf!"
