"Hey!"

You hear some woman yell from the open elevator. But you don't stop and lurch through the stairway door. You pat your bare feet down the steps and wonder if somehow you can get someone to help you get back into your room.

As you near the ground floor, you can hear voices on the other side of the door. You peek out the small square window to see a lobby with people sitting and talking. A lady in a business suit passes by never turns to look but goes on toward the lobby proper. You press you face to the small window to see more into the lobby and a group of men and women are waiting to be checked in. A sexy blonde in a short blue dress is waiting in line and you duck down when her gaze turns in your direction.

You know there is no way you can step out there and go up to the desk and ask for your key. Then you hear a door open somewhere in the stairwell above you. You start to hear the tap of shoes coming down the stairs. You can't go out into the lobby like this, so you quickly crouch down at the side of the stairs and hope this person does not look over the railing to see you.

A woman's shoes and legs appear near your face as she desends the stairs. She reaches the bottom and goes out into the lobby. Now you realize you can't stay here or you will be caught.
