Allison pulled back from her friend’s attempted kiss. There were a million thoughts running through her head when Jason first kissed her but the chief among those thoughts was that while she cared for her friend greatly, Allison wasn’t interested in pursuing this.

“Um….what are you doing?” asked the girl

“I...guess I’m showing you how I feel” said her friend

“Look Jason you are a great friend and I like you but…” Allison started

“Please don’t say it. I already know it. You don’t feel that way about me. God I feel so stupid” Jason said angrily

“It’s just. My aunt just died and I’m feeling a little **** right now. I won’t say the kiss wasn’t nice but I need time to heal and figure things out. Maybe when I do, we can talk about this again?” the woman ended her sentence with a question that gave the young man hope

“Yeah...it can wait” he responded a bit dejectedly

For a few moments, the pair sat in silence before agreeing that it was a bit of an awkward situation and they should probably get going and with the the two got back in the front seat and started the car.

Their pleasant conversation from earlier continued and soon the miles kept passing until they finally were approaching the exit for their fun weekend at Udon-Con.
