You talked to Jon a little on Saturday night and you went to a movie and T-bell in Smalltown on Sunday. After school Monday, Lexie has a breakdown of sorts and quits the cheer leading squad. The cheer leader Adviser sees you working at the store that evening and asks if you can fill in for Lexie. The Green River High School Beagles are hosting a big competition the next Saturday and need someone to fill in. Jon hears this and says he will personally set your schedule so that you can get your hours and do your school work and be on cheer squad. You liked cheer leading a lot and only quit to work. You agree to rejoin the team.

You mention to Jon that you will be at the school all day and not able to go on your dinner date Saturday. Geraldine's is closed Sunday. Jon says that is alright, he has a surprise for you on Sunday. After the Beagles won their tournament you go to the store and work until 10:00 to pick up some hours. You go back at eight and work until one on Sunday.

Jon picks you up at your mom's house at 3:00 and blindfolds you. You are driven around for about ten minutes. Jon is talking very calmly the whole time. He is telling you that he knows that not knowing where you are going might be annoying but he really doesn't want to spoil the surprise and he hopes you like it. He stops the truck and goes to your side.

He guides you down a walk and then skillfully up three steps to a door that he opens. He leads you through and says "NOW!" He quickly removes your blindfold and you see a sheet falling to reveal Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The sheet was held up by Ashley and (you later learn Jon's cousin) Wendy Ooglemeyer. "Mom. Dad. I'd like to formally introduce my girlfriend, Karen Jones."

"I'm surprised to see you, Karen, but welcome. A friend of Jon's is... well you know how that goes. At the store I'm Mr. Smith. When you're not there, call me Doug" Mr. Smith says.

"Nice to see you again, Karen. I remember you from cheer leading with Ashley last year. Please call me Britt. Doug, I told you Jon seemed real happy lately." Mrs. Smith says "I see why Jon wanted us to have a Mexican feast night tonight."

Ashley and Wendy had been holding the sheet up for five minutes. You are the first girl Jon has brought home. Wendy's dad is Britt's brother. He is an executive at the only Bank in town. Jon did bring Lexie to the house sometimes, but she was just his date. You and Wendy are classmates and get along but are not close. She is better friends with Amber as they are in the advanced classes together. Your boss is fair at work and entertaining and funny when he is in his own home. When you leave you feel loved by all, especially Jon.

Wendy gives you a ride home at 8:00 as you all have school or work in the morning. You try to text Amber but get no reply. At 11:00 she calls and said she had a great night looking at the stars with Tom. That is the story she is telling her mom. She and Tom actually started their date at 2:00 and she tells you that she now knows Tom is a great lover. She tells you not to worry, they used rubbers. You tell her of your night at the Smith mansion and that you finally feel accepted by Jon.
