Chapter 6
by Suckersoprano
Does he run to help?
No.
Dago didn’t want to walk into a trap, nor did he really want to get caught by any higher level demons, so he swallowed and moved past the noise. He found himself moving up the mountain without much difficulty. He continued until he could see the entirety of the Greed castle, as it was obviously that. It was gilded with gold and black accents and very high spires. It looked beautiful and threatening at the same time.
He turned around to go back down the mountain, but he saw something move out of the corner of his eye. He turned around to see what it was and there was a very thin, gaunt man with slicked back blonde hair pointing a gun at his temple.
“Spies!” he spat, “You’re either with the resistance or you’re dead!”
Dago wasn’t sure what to say to that, but wanted to prevent the dead part, “I’m part of the resistance, stand down!” he spat quickly.
The man thought about it for a moment, but retracted his gun and shoved it into his jacket pocket, “The name’s Lawrence, I haven’t seen you around.”
“I’m Dago, I’m pretty new,” Dago said, trying to keep up with this lie.
“Alright, I guess I gotta show you the hide out, c’mon,” he said, motioning for Dago to follow him.
Dago didn’t have much choice at this point; he could either follow or get shot again. He really didn’t want a repeat of last time he had a tangle with a gun. If they were some resistance, he didn’t doubt they’d shoot to kill.
Lawrence led Dago through the mountain and through a very hidden cave by moving a rock. There were several demons that Dago couldn’t even recognize in that tunnel, all staring at him. They didn’t recognize him, so he hoped his story held water, still.
A woman with dark red skin and black ram’s horns stood up from a pile of rocks when Lawrence waved at her, “Lawrence, who’s this?”
“The new guy, Lee, what’s going on here?” he asked the succubus, who was apparently named Lee.
Dago was a bit wary of succubae, not that he had much reason to be at this point. They were pretty weak demons and he wasn’t a mage anymore, but old habits die hard.
“Does he have any tactical experience?” she asked, frowning.
Lawrence looked pained and glanced back up at Dago, “Yeah, sure he does!”
Lee looked up at Dago, a bit expectantly, “Well, we’re attacking the greed castle tonight, what do you suggest?”
What battle plan does he choose?
