Chapter 18
by D!$N3Y
Does the fighting stop here?
No way!
After Jeremy had gotten Cyborg offline once more, he slithered out of him as electricity and reshaped himself to be his pasty self again. Beast Boy charged as a triceratops, determined to stick it to him, but Jeremy didn't move until the last minute: he teleported through his own shadow on the wall, the same one Gar got his horns stuck in. He tried tugging them out, and after a moment, he got free. Only to see about 3 copies of Jer glaring him down. He became a green lion, charging again and tried to scratch at them, only getting one Jer as it had its arms like Plasmus', defending himself against the scratching. Garfield shifted from being a lion to an octopus, grabbing all the copies. But all three gave him a HUGE jolt, knocking him out. All that was left was Robin and he alone faced Jeremy, whom made his arms like Plasmus, forearms like Cinderblock, his head going light blue like Overload, and hoisted into the air by Fang's long legs.
"Perhaps ve should intervene before tings get messy..." Rouge suggested.
"Agreed," Brain replied. Then he spoke to Robin. "Two of your comrades have fallen, and two more have been knighted to service us. You stand alone now, Robin. What we wish now is an admittance of surrender. We will make your demise quick and painless." But his growl at them bade defiance, resisting their offer to just give up. "So be it. Once again, you denied a more preferable choice and have ensured a slow, painful demise." Jeremy retracted everything he had just brought out: Plasmus, Overload, Cinderblock, and Fang's limbs before watching a door behind him on the upper floor part both ways, and two figured came flying through them: Starfire and Raven!
"No..." Robin breathed. He just couldn't believe that their eyes would be glowing, controlled by Jeremy. His focus was now sharpened, his anger solid as he gazed at the guy, telling him, "This isn't supporting the good we do, Jeremy! This is squandering it!" Finally, Jeremy spoke to him.
"I'm fine-tuning you guys," he argued. "You should work like a team as often as you work alone. You should know how to take down your enemy, whether alone or together! No matter who they are!" That was when Raven used her darkness and lifted several rocks from the rubble around them, throwing them at Robin. He defended quickly, using his staff to block or pulverize them. Starfire tried her starbolts, roaring as she hurled one at a time in a flurry. Robin used the same technique, but it was a bit more difficult, taking into account how strong she was, too. He tried something he never did before: he caught one starbolt and hurled it around, right back to collide and explode against her. She fell immediately, and Raven just caught him within her magic, tossing him every which way to weaken him, if not completely break his body.
"Very good. Very good..." Jeremy purred, smirking as he watched Robin endure as much as he could. Maybe then some, too...
