Chapter 16 by AnArcticJackalope AnArcticJackalope

What next? - Does Lea immediately make use of her new prize?

No, you all head to safety

With the expression on Lea's face you almost feel like she is about to **** Gwen herself. She pulls herself back from the brink, and you watch the clarity return to her features.

Lea then grabs Gwen by the bicep, and drags her along. You follow slightly behind the pair, unaffected by the disintegration of their relationship. After all, what they are or were to each other was none of your concern.

Ten minutes later you reach the destination. It is a small garage with solar panels on the roof. Inside there are many cans, few piles of clothing, two sleeping bags and a cheap short range electric vehicle. It looks much better than your own hiding place.

"Gwen, go get some sleep. I need to talk with him outside." Lea looks like someone used to give orders and Gwen looks like someone used to following them. Lea grabs some bandages and first aid kit and lead you outside "Let me look at your wound" She says

You hesitate a bit considering the likelihood of getting a dagger in your back and turn around. After all she will not trust you if you will not show trust to her.

"You are a very lucky bastard. There are almost no blood. Time for some disinfection. It will hurt a bit" One second later you know that her words are a lie. It isn't a bit. You don't know what kind of liquid she poured on your bleeding injury but it is even more painful than when the dagger slashed you flesh. "Why are you hissing, little boy? Can't tolerate little pain?" She asks cruelly before roughly bandaging your wound adding even more pain. This woman doesn't try to hide her hate. "It looks nice enough. Now, I made no promises, but I won't stop you from using her until I figure out exactly where I want to draw this line. You stay there on the watch, and just know that if I wanted to I could kill you in your sleep." She slams the door shut leaving you alone outside. You nearly consider calling her bluff, but she seems to be warming up to your proposal in her own aggressive way.

You seem to have agreed to follow her orders and looks like you got the first one. It would be unwise to create more hostilities so soon, and you do just as she told ready to stand there till the morning.

Most of this stolen from Hvast, because I love them so much, and have no sense of shame as a writer.

What's next?
