Was it so bad?
No, but hey, nothing weirdness and alchemy can't fix!
Blair, Ellinor, and Nora had just made it to the dining room when Zane, who had been sitting at the head of the table, stood up. It became quickly apparent this was not a formal greeting, his eyes had widened when he saw Ellinor. "Wha, how? Ellinor, Ellinor Stonebridge? I haven't seen you in years." He rushed over to her, looking her over before smiling. "I do not know what has brought you to my home, but it is good to see you." She looked rather confused which made Zane lift a brow. "Surely, you haven't forgotten about me in such a brief period of time. I know Japan lured you there with increasing your knowledge in alchemy, but I can't imagine you losing your memories of me because of it." Ellinor looked to Blair who shrugged before looking to Zane. "Um, Zane, how is it you know Ellinor?" Zane looked to Blair then to Ellinor. "Oh no, I heard from your folks that you had stop contacting them, but I had thought you had just gotten too focused on your work again." Zane looked Ellinor over again before looking closely at her neck. "No, this isn't right. How could a Master Alchemist end up losin.." Zane's eyes widened before looking to Blair. "Blair, why am I detecting traces of slavery magic on Ellinor's neck?" Zane glared at Blair, but Nora cut in. "By matter of fluke, Father. Blair rescued Ellinor by purchasing her on the abyss auction when we were, um, relaxing." Zane looked to Nora. "I...I see." Zane seemed to relax, but still looked troubled. "Accident or not, I will reimburse you for the trouble. She may be yours by purchase, but she must be freed." Blair nodded before saying. "I honestly did not wish for a ****, and I have already removed the collar, but I am afraid she doesn't seem to know much outside of her previous profession. She was calling herself, one, and only knew her name as hearsay." Zane let out a breath before nodding. "I see, they did a number on her." Ellinor was looking quite confused, but wasn't moving. Zane brought his right hand up to his mouth as he sighed. "I will need to have Izohra gather the ingredients first. Ellinor will need them to make a memory restoration potion, but before that, eating would be wise." He looked to Henry, who was just coming from the kitchen with the last food dish. "Henry, have Izohra gather the ingredients for a memory restoration potion when you are finished here." Henry nodded, taking that dish to its place at the table before excusing himself. Zane looked to the ladies and smiled. "It is time to eat, we can talk more at the table."
Zane sat at the head of the table, Nora sat to the left of her father and Blair to the left of Nora. Ellinor was looking around a bit worried. "May one, um." She paused before continuing to speak."May I, sit at the table, Blair?" Blair nodded, replying. "Of course." Ellinor took a moment to pull out her chair before sitting quietly in it. Zane nodded to signal they may start to eat. Blair making sure Ellinor started to eat as well. Zane was watching Ellinor a moment before looking to Blair. "I am curious, how much did it cost to obtain Ellinor?" She looked to Ellinor then to Zane, taking a bite of her food before saying. "$200,000, but she didn't have any clothing. So, I purchased some, that cost me an additional $3,000." Everyone else continued to eat and listen as Zane seemed to mull over this new information before saying. "I see, so they didn't really know who they had." Blair looked to Ellinor then back to Zane. "Who is she really?" Zane chuckled. "It is unofficial, but I would say, she is the top Alchemist in the United States." Zane shook his head with a little smile upon his lips. "She isn't physically strong, but she has an amazingly brilliant mind. To give you an example, she had given life to an mechanical object without the use of a life in exchange. One of her favorite party tricks is to turn water into either wine, beer, or if she doesn't like the person, crude oil, of all things." He chuckled at that last one. Blair help, but chuckle as well, saying. "She sounds fun." Zane nodded. "I thought so too, but like most brilliant people, she had her own desires and places to be. It is sad to see her like this, but that won't be for long." He sighed, looking to Ellinor before looking to Blair. "Please, eat. We shouldn't let our food get cold." She nodded, returning her attention to her meal, taking a bite.
Roughly, 45 minutes passed, by the time they finished. Blair was leaning slightly against Nora, while Zane was mostly watching Ellinor. Right when Blair was about to speak, Izohra came into the room. "Pardon me. Zane, I have gathered the ingredients: one drop of phoenix's blood, one whole silverleaf, and two cattail flowers. I was not told where you would like them placed. Alchemy lab one or two?" Zane smiled. "Ellinor, please follow Izohra to Alchemy lab one." Ellinor looked to Zane then Blair. "Go ahead, it will be okay. I will go with you." Ellinor nodded before getting up to follow Izohra as did Blair and Nora. They made their way to a door on the left side of the staircase, leading down to the basement, several doors were to the right, as there were on the left. The right had 4 doors listed in order, Alchemy lab one then two, and Enchanting area one then two. The left had 3 doors Forge, Supplies, and Medical. They entered the first door on the right into Alchemy lab one, they could all see several tables set up, though currently not in use, the had many vials, beakers, flasks, tubes, burners, sinks, along with an enormous amount of chemicals and other ingredients to use. It was easy to see how much Ellinor enjoyed being in an alchemy lab, her expression was similar to a child that had been let loose in a candy store, though they had taken away most of her memories, it would appear they could not remove her passion for her work. Ellinor forgot herself for a moment and quickly moved to the alchemist table, running her fingers along one of the tubes, beakers, then the table itself. "Oo...so clean, so many supplies." Blair chuckled, watching Ellinor. "That's cute. I see you really like it here." Ellinor nodded before looking to Blair. "I am sorry for getting ahead of myself. May I get started?" Blair nodded as Izohra handed Ellinor the ingredients she would be using. "Ah, yes, yes. Ingredients for a memory restoration potion, but almost enough for a memory wipe bomb. Yes, I see it." She shook her head, turning around before putting the silverleaf and cattail flowers into a mortar and pestle, grinding them down into a very fine powder within moments. She took a small crystal vial from the set in a tube rack, adding in the powder from the pestle before adding in some distilled water. Blair felt a little excited watching Ellinor work with such focus, it reminded her of when she played video games back home. Ellinor tilted the vial and swirled the ingredients inside before turning on a bunsen burner, quickly lighting it before putting the end in the fire, as she did that, she quickly dropped in the drop of phoenix's blood, taking it off the fire seconds after, the liquid changed from brown to red then pink, a puff of pink smoke lingered in the air just inches above the vial. Ellinor turned off the bunsen burner before lightly blowing on the opening of the vial. "Mm, perfect. This was for..? Oh, right me." She looked to Blair then to the vial. "May I, Blair?" Blair smiled. "Of course. We all want you back to your normal self." Nora and Izohra nodded in agreement. Ellinor nodded. "Bottoms up." She closed her eyes, putting the edge of that vial to her lips and tilted it back quickly to drink it, her hand quivered before putting down the vial on the alchemist table. Ellinor's hands quivered. "I...I..wait. Oh no, no, no, no. Fuck!" Ellinor's hand struck the table near the empty vial. "How could I be so stupid!?" She looked to Blair an odd thing happened as her score shot up to 155. "Oh, oh my, um, wow. Shit, hi." She looked nervous before turning around, her fingers ran through her shoulder length blonde hair. "Right, um." She turned back around with a lovely smile upon her face. "Thank you, so much for saving me from, well, my own ignorance, Blair. I cannot thank you enough for saving me from that life of slavery, even if it was just by accident." Ellinor bowed her head to Blair. "My mind, body, and heart are yours. I need to thank Zane as well. If you would pardon me for just a moment. I will be back soon. I promise." She quickly headed out of the room, leaving Blair, Nora, and Izohra stunned.
Nora glared at Blair. "What did you do while I was asking Henry to set the table for one more?" Blair chuckled nervously, she was innocent, but this was still a bit intense. "Nothing like that I swear, I just bought her some clothing and helped her get dressed." Nora lifted a brow. "Maybe she liked what she saw when she arrived." Blair blinked, saying. "Now that is something I can't help." Nora sighed before saying. "No, but I suppose, it isn't unexpected for people to drool over you. You are my sexy girlfriend after all." Blair nodded before kissing Nora's cheek. "Yes, I am and you are mine." Nora sighed, but slipped her arms around Blair's waist. Blair knew things could have been worse, and well, hopefully they wouldn't get worse. They wouldn't, right?
