Day 19

Dear diary,

Jean has been very demanding today. I've barely had time to think between cleaning all the rooms, the courtyard, doing the laundry with the sheets, and cleaning the dishes up from the guests. Luckily I'm not doing all this in my regular clothes; Jean gave me some old uniforms she had from her last cleaner. They're dark gray dresses, a little low cut for my taste, with white aprons and skirts that come down about 4 inches above the knee. Jean explained that the climate here is too hot for longer dresses, which didn't make much sense, but whatever. She had some black flats to go with them as well, which were very helpful.

I asked Jean if we could drive tomorrow to the village to see if my cards were there. As much as it's nice to take my mind off of my regular life, I'd like to at least get some money I can pay her back with. She said it was possible, but only if we had enough time after the hotel work. She's really harping on the amount of money I owe her at this point. I think her charity has finally hit it's limit, and I don't blame her. I've been her almost three weeks and my tab is in the thousands of dollars! I'm going to try to visit the consulate again soon, I really need my stuff!
