Nina hears the car horn.

She had been wandering around in the dark for about 15 minutes, screaming Cassie’s name, when she heard the sound. At first, Nina thought she had made it up in her head. She was in a daze of panic and had tears streaming from her eyes like a river. She stomped over the mushy ground beneath her; the underbrush felt like it had little hands that kept grabbing at her legs. The young girl sobbed loudly as she pushed on. Nina was frustrated; their car had a flat tire, she’d lost one of her high-heeled shoes and on top of it all, her friend Cassie was nowhere to be found. Then it came again, the sound Nina was afraid of. The fog worked like a blanket and dampened the car horn, making it sound faint and so far away to Nina’s ears.

“GOD, this can’t be happening!” Nina mumbled to herself. Now, she was faced with the agonizing decision, keep looking for Cassie or go back to Allison.

“CASSIE!” she shouted one last time, with her hands at the sides of her mouth. There was silence all around her, the response she had prayed from never came. “Well maybe Cassie found her way back to the car,” Nina told herself, somehow, she knew better.

What had taken 15 minutes to walk seemed to take twice as long on the way back. Nina’s foot was killing her, somewhere she’d stepped on something sharp and cut open the bottom of her heel. Her black stockings were now soaked and shredded up to her knees. Nina’s electric blue dress had gotten caught on a tree branch and ripped open over her left breast. At first she kept her hand there holding the flap over her tit, but after a while it seemed pointless and she allowed her large boob to be exposed. Nina could now see the car just beyond the edge of the trees. She **** herself to walk faster now, not worrying about what she was stepping on. As she exited the forest and stepped on the gravel again, the heel of her remaining shoe snapped. Nina fell hard; skinning her palms and knees up on the pavement.

“FUCK!” she said angrily. She moved into a sitting position and pulled off her shoe, before throwing it into the forest. She heard it smash off a tree then fall into the long grass. She managed to get to her feet, and walked barefoot to the car.
