Next morning

You were woken up by movement on the couch. It was still pitch black, but you assumed that it was morning already. The three women were awake as well.

"We need to switch on the generator," said Zoe.

"Right, just give me a second," you said. You got of the couch and went inside to the generator room. Using the torch, you found the switch and powered on the generator. You went back into the living room. Even though you saw the girls last night, you still got surprised by three gorgeous women in the room. All three were visibly sad. It was very difficult for them to accept the fact that all of their relatives were probably dead. For you, it was a lot easier, you were the only sibling in your family and both of your parents passed away when you were young. You lived the last 10 years with your cousins. The experience of losing your parents at such a young age, made it easier for you to handle the current situation.

"I think we need to discuss what just happened," you said.

"The world fucking ended!" Kate shouted.

"Hey, let's calm down," said Jane.

Kate stood up and said, "Why, why did this happen?"

Zoe got up from the couch and said, "It doesn't matter why. What matters is that we are safe, and we need to figure out what to do!"

"Our priority is to make sure that we survive, the next few months are crucial. The fallout radiation is the biggest danger now. We have to wait it out. And the only way we can do that is if we stay calm." you said.

"Only 2 months?" Jane asked.

"The danger of fallout decay will be gone in two months, but the area will still be dangerous depending on how many bombs fell," you proclaimed. You were a physics student, so you had some knowledge about the dangers of radiation and how nuclear bombs work. "Let's have a tour of our new home and see what we are working with." Zoe said, while trying to be enthusiastic.
