New guests arrive

Mia sat on the gray sofa and rested her legs on the table.{if MiaKitchen = 1} She wore a new pair of long red socks; you guessed she packed extra for the weekend. {endif} Clarice scrolled through Netflix, trying to find a movie, but Mia kept declining. In the next moment, the doorbell rang, and a cold breeze ran through the room.

“We’re here, bitches!” an Asian girl celebrated. She was in teal pajamas and waved snack bags in the air. You walked up to the door and greeted her. “So this is Jamie. You’re cute.”

“Sarah, stop it,” your sister pushed her to the side and gave you a hug. She gave you a bag with soda.“Are you having a good time?”

“Fuck no. This is so stale,” Mia said and took a gulp of beer. Clarice ignored her comment.

"That changes now," Sarah bounced into the living room with a smile and jumped onto the sofa. Clarice handed her a beer, but she shook her head. "Where's the vodka?"

Clarice retracted her hand and returned to the T.V. Mia's eyes lit up. "Hell yeah. It's in my bag upstairs."

"I'll get it," Sarah said and sprinted past you, the wind blowing your sister's hair.

"She seems excited," you said.

"Yeah, she loves her liquor," she moved her hair out of her face and her eyebrows sterned. "If she does anything, tell me, and I'll teach her a lesson, okay?"

"Sounds harsh."

"She's a tease. It's weird if she does it to you," she said and crossed her arms.

"I understand."

The girls sat talking around the living room table while Clarice was scrolling through Netflix and you fixed the popcorn. You could hear them all the way to the kitchen, through the buzzing of the microwave. You watched the number tick down on the small digital screen.

"Clarice, you can't pick a good movie. Let's just watch Pulp Fiction," Mia yawned. Sarah agreed with a loud 'yeah.'

"We've already seen Pulp Fiction," Clarice said timidly.

"It's better than watching Netflix menus," Mia said. You hadn't noticed before this weekend, but Mia could be a real bully. When you returned from getting popcorn, Clarice had already given in and the movie was about to start.
