Chapter 14 by Tumulus-Hedge Tumulus-Hedge

What's next?

Never been Happier to be Booted

Immediately, everything went pitch black for Nermeria, and the next thing she knew, she was no longer Nermeria Longlif, Rose Johnson, Rosey, Rosey Cheeks, or Rosey-Red-Bottom. She was Amy Chase. Standing up into her room, Amy sighed in utter relief.

Grabbing and then pinching her arm, Amy realized she truly had escaped from the situation. Apparently, the computer had found it fit to solve the error in her favor, which meant she was free. Freedom was a thing she'd never been too worried about, but that night, she felt herself just want to do anything other then stare at a screen or play a game.

Coming home from a delicious meal out, Amy felt her heart stir in anger at the machine that had kept her prisoner for such a long time, and when she woke up in her own body, in her own bed, in her own apartment that following morning, she finally knew what she had to do: reach out to the devs.

They were confused, at first, but once they examined who Rose Johnson was, and after a fair amount of explanation, they had a solution baked up. Nermeria Longlif was stripped of both her ill-gotten gold and the cursed items, and those items, skills and stats were removed. She was never given the most in depth answer why a medieval game had need of buttplugs or spanking, but honestly, she was too embarrassed to even bring it up (though she sometimes considered it).

They let her know she could log in fine, but Amy Chase waited, and dragged her feet, taking close to 3 weeks before she even logged into the game again. This time, however, she had a few friends with her. It wasn't as exciting as running solo, but she had no concern she'd be locked away. Just as in the game, she made friends with her neighbors, realizing if she'd never been saved by the computer, none of these people would've even known she lived in her apartment! And due to the fact that her machine had a connection to her buildings water system and could feed someone...who knows what could've happened.

Her life was a bit different now. The thought bounced around her head frequently, never leaving.

Perhaps not the life Nermeria the Rogue Magician would've liked it; but Amy Chase the Free Human found it not too terrible.

THE END......(of this little branch)

End
