If the moment it occurred, it hadn't felt so right, Baroness may have suddenly seen a mistake in this new formulation of the perfume. The perfume worked equally well if sprayed on the target, or sprayed on yourself and then interacting with the target. In both cases, the target fell in love with the person they associated with the scent. If you had sprayed it on yourself, they effect was love for you. If you sprayed it on them, the effect was love for the first person they saw.

In the perfume's original form, it only affected men - so this was not an issue. But this form affected men and women equally - and so, as strongly as it imprinted love and lust for the Baroness onto Lady Jaye - it imprinted the reciprocal feelings as well.

Baroness eyes were opened to how intoxicating the G.I. Joe agent was - her beauty and charisma were something she'd heard spoken of, but in their previous encounters she'd been blind to it herself. But now, she knew that she must dedicate herself to the woman in front of her - and though she felt terrible for using the perfume on this goddess to make her share those feeling, she couldn't help but be excited at the prospect that she did.
