Chapter 9 by CuchulainnHound 77 CuchulainnHound 77

What's next?

Moving South

The Wildlings marched onward the next day, pulling Castle Black's provisions out in large carts pulled by mammoths and dragging a small contingent of disheveled Crows behind them.

Mance marched at the head of the long unorganized column, surveying the land which was devoid of any civilization. Wild northmen lived in these parts, and they would not take kindly to the invaders.

The Free folk arrived at the outskirts of a town after a few days march, a small farming village of little means looked over by a holdfast keep. Mance looked at it over the hill. These people were used to raiding parties and would surely give a fierce resistance despite the odds.

As his army crested the hill, the village came alive with activity, men old and young seizing up whatever makeshift weapons they could find and forming a ragged militia at the outskirts of the outcropping of houses.

The Free Folk were thirsty for a fight and Mance knew better than to try and restrain them, so he sat back as the wildlings flooded down the hill with a deafening cry.

What is the aftermath of the pillaging?
