Mouth

I put on the gloves before feeling my cousin's neck...her glands were swollen somewhat. "How much have you been coughing?"

"Every so often...*cough-hack* and it hurts..." Came her answer.

"I see." I pick up the pen-light. "Open please."

Chris opens her mouth, and I look in. Her throat was red...and her tongue was slightly coated. I have her stick out her tongue, and then I placed two fingers gently on it.

"Say 'ahh~', please?"

She did, but it made her cough a bit. I look all around her oral cavity, memorizing every detail, then have her close her mouth.

"How'd she look, Doc?" Francine asked.

"Her throat's very red...she shouldn't talk for a while." I explain, before starting to listen to Chris's heart and lungs. Her lungs were raspy, which made sense. My cousin got shy when I had to examine lower...but obeyed.

I peered at her womb, once I opened her up. It seemed pulse with each breath.

"All looks okay." I tell them, while packing up. "Get some rest, Chris."

"I will."

Francine winks at me, and head back to the attic...
