How did the 'long talk' go?

Mostly boring at first

Chapter 148 by robyna

Eliza dropped him off at Jan's house, confiscated his phone, and headed to work.

Rick tried watching local TV to see if he was in the news but quickly got depressed. A couple of murders and an arson were apparently minor stuff compared to the lifestyles of the rich and famous.

So he got on Jan's computer, intent on surfing the net. He suspected someone had filters for anyone researching bio-DNA so he set Jan's FireFox browser options to private and did some searching on duck duck go.

Mostly it was all sunny news... no big surprise since he'd been in charge of marketing until a week earlier and he'd worked hard to make sure the Internet was populated with stories of success. He tried a search of bio-DNA + harassment and came up empty.

So he logged into his e-mail and sent his ex-admin, Amy, a message, directed through several ISPs so it would be difficult to get a lock on his current location. "Hey, looks like I'll be coming back. Got a great offer. How are things there. Is the team all happy? Look forward to working with you again."

Of course bio-DNA would be monitoring Amy's e-mail since he was sending it to her office address, and he wanted to make sure whoever was watching was clear that he was looking forward to returning. He certainly didn't want any more efforts at killing him before he returned. Not that he figured he'd live long if he really did come back. He imagined the headline--"Local Executive dies in freak team bonding accident."

He was about to shut down when he decided on one last search--bio-DNA + side effects."

Duck Duck Go told him that was a search with few results and asked if he'd like to expand it to all bio-DNA which he didn't.

The one result was a since deleted social media post dated about eighteen months earlier. Someone claimed he was going crazy hearing voices from others around him without their having to talk. That, he decided, was interesting although he didn't know where to go with it. At least it was similar to what he'd experienced although he related it to reading nerve impulses rather than hearing voices. Which made him wonder, how had they selected the alpha users and what had happened to them once they'd finished the tests? It felt strange he'd never felt the need to ask that question the entire time he'd been employed by bio-DNA.

He was about to dig deeper when the door opened and the two sisters arrived.

"So," Jan said, "you're in trouble again."

"There's something strange going on and it has to do with my old company. That doesn't mean I'm responsible. Barbara, the lawyer that got blown up, was planning on using me as a source of information. I certainly didn't set her off researching the company because she was doing that herself. As for Olivia, I'm not sure. She might just have been getting in Dan's way, looking like she'd cost too much in a divorce, or it's possible she was doing some digging, maybe even going through Dan's computer or something. If so, it's possible something I said got her looking and believe me, I feel guilty. But let's remember, I didn't kill those ladies. And now, I think I'm a target."

The long talk went on longer than Rick wanted. Eliza urged him to be careful and lay low. Jan told him to take the job offer and forget any idea of finding out the truth. He simply nodded and agreed with both.

Until Eliza finally said, "Okay, that's done. So, what shall we do for the rest of the evening."

"I was hoping," Jan said, "that Rick might give me a massage."

"I was hoping he would give me one," Eliza said. "And Rick was hoping to fuck both of us at the same time, right Rick? How about all of us get our wishes?"

"But..." Jan sputtered a bit. "But he's your brother-in-law. Isn't that gross? And I've never done a threesome. And with my sister..."

Luckily the bio-DNA in his system gave him the info Rick needed. Jan might be sputtering and denying but her body was revved up, her pulse accelerated, her nerves telegraphing their readiness.

"Why don't we start with those massages," Rick suggested. "We'll move on from there with what sounds like fun to all of us."
