Mom was younger

"Mom?"

She turned and looked at me. "What is it?"

"You look different." She had longer hair, although it was the same color. She was also much younger, about my age. She was also thinner, like she kept in better shape than she had been.

"What do you mean?"

I couldn't believe she didn't know what I was talking about. Had something happened in the time it took me to take my shower?

"First, Dad's missing, and..."

"What do you mean your father's missing? I said he may be in the bathroom."

"Okay, I'll check, but first, look in a mirror. You look younger."

Mom looked at me like I was joking, then she left the kitchen. I heard a scream, and I ran to her. She was shaking. "Your father's missing, and you're right about me! What should we do?"
