Chapter 4
by Nemo of Utopia
What Happened Next?
Mistress Rohata With Fresh Orders...
"Jessy, is it just me or did that plan actually go RIGHT?" James asked, and they both stopped in shock.
"You know, I think it DID?" Jessy said, suddenly worried.
"I've been telling you two we should quit chasing that Pikachu and get back to our strong suits for more than a year." Nyarth commented from where he was re-counting the money they had left from the operating budget for this caper, knowing full well that as soon as Mistress Rohata showed up the this little surplus went straight back into the team's accounts to take a chip out of the massive amount of debt they carried with the Boss.
"Shut up Nyarth, no one asked YOU!" Jessy and James both snapped, sick to **** of the mouthy little cat that had been their third wheel since Boss Giovanni "Made" them four years ago.
"I was assigned to you to represent the Boss and the rest of the team, when did you two forget that?" Neyarth kevetched quietly.
"About the time the Boss started having that Pursian sitting around his office..." James sneered.
"FFFIT!" Neyarth hissed, forcibly reminded the Boss had replaced him when THESE two chuckleheads had begun to screw up, repeatedly.
"Are you quite done fighting among yourselves?" Ai Rohata demanded from the doorway.
"Yes mam!" All three exclaimed, jumping to attention.
"Good. You all remember your visit to the Pokemon Academy, up in the mountains near Cyiba City?"
"Yes." The trio winced.
"Well, in spite of the rumors to the contrary, it's still there, still open, and still filled with the children of rich families who want to become Pokemon trainers but their parents won't let them wander around the countryside and risk having them kidnapped. They've beefed up security since you dropped in last time, but with a small crew and your talent for impersonating government officials you can penetrate the perimeter and use the new 'Abduction Balls' to kidnap the following targets," Ai handed over a list.
"We will hold them for ransom, and the school will pay it quite readily to keep the matter quiet. If you pull this off without any big screwups your cut of the take should not only knock out your debts to the Boss and the rest of the team, but leave you a nice bit to live on while the heat dies down. It also will prove Master Giovanni's theory that the past three years have been an aberration caused by what he calls 'The Tagonists Principal', whatever that means."
"Who're we working with and what's the cover?" Jessy asked, hungry for a chance to redeem herself to the Boss and the team.
"Got all the details right here," Ai declared, handing over a Dossier...
What Was In The Dossier?
Pokémon: Rest for the Wicked.
When Jessy and James end up stranded on an uninhabited island thousands of miles from the nearest City, Town, or even Village and with no hope in the world of getting rescued, they re-examine their lives up to this point, and over time their relationship.
Jessy and James, lovely and charming villains of Team Rocket, have FINALLY managed to square things with Boss Giovanni. Managing to steal the plans for an illegal prototype pokeball from team Magma which can be used to capture HUMANS, they kidnap several young children from the Pokemon Academy in the Kanto Mountains and hold them for ransom: while Ash Ketchum and Pikachu are on a plane to Aloha and nowhere within 10000 miles. It worked. In recognition of thier NOT screwing up Giovanni gives them a new assignment, posing as deep sea fishing tour guides while hunting for rare aquatic Pokemon... Not very glamorous, but their track record IS abysmal. Having managed to put some distance between themselves and Ash's Pikachu everything goes fairly OK... Right up until James hooks a suspiciously familiar Guayridos. The survive; AGAIN, but find themselves marrooned on an island thousands of miles from nowhere with Meowth nowhere to be found. In the end, this could turn out to be the best thing which has ever happened to them...
