Miss: Dr. B's pager goes off

The next day, you and your sweetie-pie Mary and Dr. Breedlove are talking together about how Mary can help take care of you once you get home. The conversation finally gets round to the part of occupational therapy you've been waiting for -- sexual techniques to work around your broken leg as it heals.

"Mr. Forbes, Mrs. Forbes," Dr. Breedlove says. "I'm so very sorry, but I must leave now without finishing, but we can try again soon."

And with that, she rises, presses Mary's hand, then yours -- was that her middle finger tip pressing your palm? -- and goes.

"Can you stick around for a tiny little bit so we can practice just a little?" you say.

"I'm so sorry, honeybear, I have the afternoon shift, I've got to get going," Mary says. "Oh, but I did remember." Mary stands up, takes the hem of her skirt and flips it up.

"Lovely moon to be out in the daytime," you say.

"I have to get going, honeybear," Mary says.

She turns toward you, steps up and bends over to give you a kiss. She doesn't pull back when your hand goes under her skirt, but she finishes with the kiss -- come back! you think -- picks up her purse and walks on out. The clack-clack of your wife's new "do-me" shoes -- well, anyone else would have said "fuck-me" shoes -- is loud on the floor tiles.

"Nice shoes!" you call after. "See you soon!"

"Tomorrow, honeybear," Mary calls back.

And now you're alone again.
