Misato and Ritsuko escort Shinji.

Shinji is escorted by Ritsuko and Misato through weaving paths through out the facility, the two women exchanging idle chatter that Shinji couldn't understand. Eventually taking Shinji to a chamber so vast it made the room of winding moving floors seem cramped in comparison. Ritsuko walked Shinji and Misato to a platform and began punching keys on a keypad. A creaking metal gate shot up from the floor behind them and the platform began to lurch and shutter as it ascended upwards. The chamber was cold and dark, and a mist rose up from some depth impossibly deep below. A pink light emanated from deep within the chamber creating strange silhouettes in the eerie space.

A small voice chirped from a speaker on the side of the keypad, speaking in the same casual woman's voice from the service elevator. The speaker said "Battle stations level 1, prepare for ground level interception." Misato crossed her arms of the steel railing and looked down into the depths, for the first time since this all started Shinji could only think this was the first time this woman seemed tired. Misato spoke not looking at anyone "There we go." Ritsuko leaned against the railing at the opposite of the platform staring through the back of Misato's head. like she was still trying to maintain eye contact. Ritsuko responded to Misato "It sounds pretty serious." Misato lifted her head up and looked over her shoulder at Ritsuko "So how is Unit 1 coming?" curiosity breaking through her exhaustion. Misato lifted herself up and turned her full body to Ritsuko grasping the railing with her hands and leaning towards her. Ritsuko gave Misato an answer "It's currently undergoing refrigeration, using the B-type equipment." Misato asked "Does it really work, it never has before has it?" Ritsuko tilted her head and looked up a bit "The possibility of activation is zero point zero zero zero zero zero zero zero zero one percent. Around her we just call it the O-9 system." Misato a bit anxious asked "Does that mean it doesn't work?" Ritsuko got a bit annoyed at that and said "Don't be insulting its 0-9, as in oni a Japanese devil." Shinji at this point totally dissociated from what the two woman were saying and simply responded with "Huh?" before turning his gaze into the earie mist surrounding him trying to make out shadows, and he could swear that one was a hand reaching out trying to grasp at something or someone. The idea of that made him nervous and he began trying to reread the folder, the words a inky mess in the dim defused light.

From this point forward Misato and Ritsuko escorted him through various paths and waterways before finally arriving at some strange damned area of pink fluid. Ritsuko walked into a small door in a wall, and Misato grabbed Shinji's hand and lead him inside with her. It was dark illuminated only by the open doorway behind them, then that door slowly began to shut and Misato let go of his hand. The three of them we darkness and Shinji began to panic screaming "Hey, why is it so dark in here!?" Next to him he heard a clicking noise and the space was flooded with light, and before him was the face of a monster. Shinji shrieked and took a step back.
