“Hey, Little Lexi,” Megan said. “When Ms V told me she found a new baby, I wasn’t expecting it to be you, but I guess that makes sense. Does Michelle know you’re here? I’m sure she would be interested to know her little friend is stuck in daycare.”

“M-megan,” Alexa croaked. “W-what are you…”

“You need a change, Lexi,” Megan said. “Look at that. Your diaper is soaked and I’m sure it’ll be messy soon too. Let’s get you some breakfast and then once you fill your diaper, we can begin our day together. It’s just you and me today. Ms V is out running some errands. You might be joined later by some more babies. Of course, not literal babies, but ones like you.”

Alexa nodded, unsure of what else to do as Megan lifted her from the crib. “Now… what to give you for breakfast…” Megan said, tapping her chin.
