Chapter 41 by Ben Rosewood Ben Rosewood

Megan's needs

The rest of my workday ended up being pretty typical. When I got back home, I found Megan sitting in the kitchen wearing figure-hugging jeans and a black and white striped shirt that flaunted ample cleavage. As she jotted down some study notes from a textbook, I walked up behind her and then planted a kiss on her cheek.

"Hey babe." I said.

"Hey Mike." She sighed.

"You okay?"

"Not really."

Concern filled my face. "What happened?"

"Well, I was crossing the road when the strap to my bag broke and I only realized when I got across the street. When I looked back, some idiot drove over it.”

"Jeez. So it's completely wrecked?"

She gave a half-hearted nod. "Yep."

"You at least got your work?"

"Yeah, I had that backed up, but... I still need a new laptop."

"Uh... Can we afford that?"

"I uh... I’m not sure to be honest.”

"Look, how about I cook up these steaks, and then we can worry about it?"

Finally, Megan flashed a smile. "Sounds like a plan."

I gave Megan another kiss before heading off to cook dinner. Grilling the steaks gives me plenty of time to ponder the current situation. Money was admittedly tight, and the fact Megan wasn't working didn't help. It'd also hinder any getting any piercings, or a horse set up like Quentin had. Maybe if he'd published that video, we would be racking in some cash. I sure as hell would pay to watch that, and I certainly couldn't be the only pervert who would either.

When we sat down to eat, I braved asking, “So I was thinking about what you said.”

"Yeah?"

"Well, I mean, I know you're doing a lot of studying, but maybe you could pick up a job."

"You have any specific ideas?"

Grinning, I said, "Stripper."

Megan chuckled. "No way. My parents would freak out if they ever found out."

"They don't have to know."

"Yeah, but... I mean, I'm sure some of Dad's friends still go to those clubs."

"You think they'd want to admit that?"

"Well, probably not."

"Plus, you can’t deny you'd love getting naked on the stage."

Megan flashed another smile at me, before saying "I mean... I don't know. Maybe something else... Like I could do Uber or something?"

As much as I wanted to push it, I figured pushing too hard might strain our relationship. Instead, I merely shrugged and said, "Maybe. It's just an idea.”
