Chapter 16

What’s next?
Meeting the Cloud sisters
Hauk and Lana stood silent in the elevator as it made its ascent towards the penthouse floor, the young mulatto cop nervously checking that her gun was working as it should over and over again.
“Stop,” Hauk finally said to Lana, “you’re only making yourself more nervous.”
“Yeah,” Lana agreed, “I guess so.”
“You ever been in a gun-battle before?” Hauk asked her, and Lana replied by shaking her head, biting her lip.
“Don’t worry about it, and just stay close to me.” Hauk said, just as the elevator reached its destination, “Looks like we’re here.”
The door slid open, and in the hallway which now came into view stood another figure in black combat fatigues. Without any hesitation, Hauk sent a short stream of bullets his way, cutting the man down.
There was only one door in the hallway, and that one had been kicked or shot open so that it hung with its top detached from its hinges.
Apart from the man that Hauk had just gunned down, there were two other figures laying completely still on the floor, frozen in unnatural positions with blood trickling out of the wounds shot into their bodies.
“Here,” Hauk said after having reached down and picked up a pump-action shotgun that had belonged to one of the dead men, “take this.”
He gave the shotgun to Lana, who holstered her pistol and grabbed the larger weapon. Despite the fact that he had just fired the rifle, Hauk doubted that anyone would have noticed it, for from the loud bangs and the rattle of automatic weapons coming from inside the room it was obvious that a fight was going on in there.
With Lana right behind him, Hauk moved down the hallway and peeked past the doorframe.
There, he could see five more black-clad figures either standing up or kneeling, all of them firing at a spot in the room which he couldn’t see. Apart from the five, there were three more black-clad figures in the room, though they were knocked-out and most probably dead.
The five had not noticed him, and Hauk hugged the wall in order to keep it that way as he advanced the final few feet towards the doorway, using his fingers to tell Lana how many enemies he could see.
Stepping out from behind the doorframe, Hauk aimed his rifle at the five men and then let loose the entire magazine, with Lana stepping up next to him and unloading the shotgun.
The five men were caught completely unaware by the attack of the two new-comers, and were all riddled with bullets.
With the fight over before it had barely started, Hauk slipped another clip into place and entered the apartment, scanning it for more targets, with Lana again walking just behind him.
The spot which the five had been firing at turned out to be a sofa that had been knocked over to its side, and from behind it Sledge now appeared, the black stud being completely naked and holding a gun in his right hand.
“Sledge!” Hauk called out, in surprise. Sledge’s response was an equally surprised “Hauk!”
From behind a nearby corner, a woman now appeared. Like Sledge, she was completely naked, with nothing on to cover her muscular body, the lush swell of her ample tits or the wet, hairless mound and lips of her pussy.
“Who the fuck are these two?” The woman asked Sledge, before seeming to recognize Lana.
“The guy’s Hauk, a buddy of mine. The girl I don’t recognize.” Sledge replied.
“But I do,” the woman said, “it’s sis’ downstairs-neighbour.”
Now two more women appeared, one of them from behind the sofa next to Sledge and the other from around the corner. Like the others, they were completely naked but these two were not armed, and they both looked like slightly less muscular examples of the first woman, with their faces looking similar enough for Hauk to realize that all three of them must be the Cloud sisters that Lana had talked about.
The introduction that followed was tense at first, but Hauk found out that the sisters were Cindy, a white-haired reporter and owner of the apartment, Monica, the most muscular one with black-hair and a heart-shaped tattoo on her left tit and Rachel, who was blonde and equipped with a bust that was slightly larger than those of her sisters.
“The cops are probably going to be here soon,” Sledge said.
“I am a cop.” Lana cut in.
“Right, sorry. Your colleagues are going to be here soon, I meant.”
Taking command of the situation, Hauk instructed Cindy, who owned the apartment, and Lana, who was a cop, to stay there and greet the cops, while he, Sledge, Theresa and the other two Cloud sisters would hide in Lana’s apartment: It was deemed more convenient for them not to get involved.
With that, Cindy went looking for some clothes to put on, while Hauk and the others entered the elevator and went down to Lana’s floor, where she handed them her key before heading down to the lobby, where she was to find Theresa and tell her about what was going on.
“You know something?” Rachel asked the others as she stepped into Lana’s flat, “I think I could use a shower, anyone wanna join me?”
