"Tyrone, please wait, maybe I can stay with you instead?" Lilija called after him. Tyrone turned around and walked toward her. She fixed her big blue eyes on him and gave a little pout that always got her what she wanted.

"Sounds like you askin' me for a favor, Lily White Girl," Tyrone observed with a sneer that Lilija couldn't interpret. "You trying to take advantage of me here?" Lilija was a little taken aback thinking she had offended him, and quickly shook her head. "So you thinking you and me are special friends now, huh?"

"Oh yes, let us be, Tyrone!" she beamed and hugged him tight. "You are my first American friend! And of course my very first black friend!" She laughed nervously, as she could now feel something strange pressing against her abdomen.
