Chapter 2
by profoak
From whose perspective do we start?
Mary
The coffee was hot, but her cheeks even warmer
Across the coffee shop that she frequented, she found another regular.
Mary, the little wolf, knew what she liked. The man that seemed innocent was always a treat, even though no man would prove innocent for long. Those who tell you they are taken and satisfied, have further to fall. So precious are those husbands. "Devout" even as she would wrap them around her finger, replacing the ring on theirs.
The man she found, soon to be her man, was getting a drink for the missus. It was probably some vain and complex drink that he had to memorize to avoid being chastised. He's too good for her, i'd do them both a favor.
Men never stayed loyal. She could wrap them around her finger, as tight as they go. Still, they always left unless she got tired first. This one could hardly be different.
I wouldn't deserve a faithful man. Luckily there is no one to be found.
Mary headed for the restroom to clear her head. Checking the hair, reapplying lipstick. The rituals might not do much to a perfect performance, but it feels helpful. Is today the day? A slight wind is felt on her hair. It's been a while, not enough love. Remember, he comes in here often, no pressure.
With limbs just tense enough to get self conscious, she stepped out of the restroom. A knee almost gives as she stops herself before the picture in her mind. It's him! His wife must have gone in the restroom after me. The chance is right there, just to reach out and grab him! Figuratively at first, naturally. He'd be all flustered and unsure how to respond, christian morals **** on a much more natural one.
Take in that sight!
Neatly dressed, neatly fitted, dress pants and a shirt just colorful enough to indicate a personality. A little fat, the kind that say that he used to work out more, but without having to compromise the sexy. The "chaste" kind that will act surprised from attention, neglected as they are. He will even act innocent, but only for a while.
She composed herself, presenting her best smile. - Hi handsome, i almost fell for you there! After saying her "brilliant"opening, she reached out her hand in a manner pretending to be casual, resting on his arm. It was a "complex" maneuver made easy from her noticeable disregard for personal space. He seemed.. kinda dense, slow to take hints as many men can be. He'll take them, eventually.
Looking down, pretending to look at his black coffee; another brilliant line is about to come forth. So, is that coffee for me? If not, i'd like a cup next time we stumble together. She had plenty of confidence to muster, she must have. I bet we would have a lot in common; she told with a slight wonder in her hazel eyes.
She thought she had him, looking at his smile widen. But then it began to wander, not down to the class of her blouse, but sideways. She heard something about honey and jumped towards the nearest exit. She expected screams, yelling, even blows. Could this be even worse? She couldn't understand this reaction. As she nonchalantly escaped, she saw how the wife looked at her. It wasn't anger, nor fear, nor worry; it was interest.
